Spamalot easily garners attention from the busy world of online slots because it stands out due to the humor and theme involved in the game. Furthermore, what other slot can be said to be inspired by Monty Python?
This humorous slot game is designed by Playtech and can be enjoyed at casinos such as Omni Casino, Vegas Red Casino, bet365 Casino, and more.
Spamalot Basic Information
Spamalot has a cartoonish theme that is fitting when considering the humor of the source material. Characters include King Arthur, the Lady of the Lake, and Sirs Lancelot, Robin, and Galahad. All look suitably silly, with the exception of the Lady of the Lake, who looks rather fetching even in cartoon form.
Aside from the fun symbols and great sound, this is a five-reel slot that features 20 paylines. Plenty of features are included, such as special symbols, a bonus game, and more. Of course, the progressive jackpot also attracts many players, and rightfully so.
Spamalot Coin Values and Jackpots
In Spamalot, you will have some options when it comes to the amounts of your wagers. Coin ranges start at 1 cent and go all the way to $2.50, with a multitude of values in between, such as 2 cents, 5 cents, 10 cents, 25 cents, $1, and more. You can only bet one coin per line, but with twenty paylines to play, the betting range goes from just 1 cent all the way to $50.
The progressive jackpot is not the largest you’ll find online, but it’s an active one and is worth an average of about $861, with winners every 10 hours or so. The biggest win was nearly $5,000 CAD, which is a nice sum, indeed.
Spamalot Jackpot Rules
To win the Spamalot jackpot, you first have to get into the Holy Grail Jackpot game. You can do so by getting five jackpot symbols on reel three, but only when you are in the free games, which require the scatter symbol to get into.
Spamalot Special Symbols
The wild symbol is the Holy Grail itself, and substitutes for all symbols except other special symbols. Five of them on any payline will give you 5,000 coins.
The Bonus symbol will get you into the Spamalot bonus game, which is outstanding. You need to get the bonus symbol anywhere on reels one and five in order to trigger the bonus game.
The scatter symbol simply says “Monty Python’s Scatter”, so you can’t miss it. Three or more pay out, and you will also get free games with random wilds when you get three or more.
Spamalot Bonus Games
The Free Games mode, triggered by the scatter symbol as detailed above, allows you free spins. However, five or more jackpot symbols on reel three during the Free Games mode will give you the progressive jackpot, which is a great incentive.
The actual Spamalot bonus game, however, is much more involved and really great. When you enter the bonus mode, there are Storm the Castle, None Shall Pass, Knights Who Say Ni, and Killer Rabbit.
Storm the Castle allows you to pick one of six positions to place your knights so you can avoid being hit by a flying cow (yes, really). Avoid the cow, and you win a prize. The round ends when you’re hit.
None Shall Pass gives you a 5x multiplier and you must try to cut off the limbs of the Black Knight, winning prizes when you succeed. When you miss, the multiplier drops by one, with your cash prize being multiplied at the end of the round by your final multiplier amount.
Knights Who Say Ni gives you three houses with shrubbery that is needed by your knights. You pick one and see the prize in the shrubbery, and can keep it or discard it to pick another house.
Killer Rabbit forces you to pick a rock so that a knight can use it to slay the Killer Rabbit. If he’s successful, the other knights left over will grant you cash prizes. If not, the knight will be dead and you pick another rock, repeating the process again.
Final Thoughts
It’s hard to think of a video slot game anywhere that is more amusing or which has a better bonus game than Monty Python’s Spamalot. The progressive jackpot is modest, but a nice incentive, and the game as a whole is fun to play.
